Inside the Experience of Therapy With Me

If you've ever thought therapy might be cold, clinical, or full of awkward silences — let me gently change your mind.
Therapy with me isn’t about lying on a couch while someone scribbles notes behind glasses. It’s more like catching up with a close friend… if that friend also had professional training, a deep understanding of trauma and attachment, and an ethical responsibility to maintain clear boundaries and help you grow.
A Warm Welcome, Always
The first thing you'll notice in a session with me is that the vibe is friendly, encouraging, and relaxed. I’m not here to judge or fix you. I’m here to see you — really see you — and walk alongside you as you work through whatever’s bringing you in.
My clients often describe me as authentic, kind, and genuinely curious about who they are and how they became that way. That’s because I care deeply. I believe in the power of connection, and that feeling safe, understood, and accepted is the first step toward healing.
Therapy That Feels Like You
I work from a psychodynamic lens, which means I’m always considering the deep roots beneath the surface — especially how early attachment experiences may be shaping your current relationships, emotions, and patterns.
But I also know that insight alone isn’t always enough. That’s where my skills-based approaches come in. I incorporate tools from:
DBT for emotional regulation and distress tolerance
CBT to challenge unhelpful thoughts and create new, healthier beliefs
Polyvagal theory and mindfulness to help you understand your nervous system and reconnect with safety in your body
EMDR interventions when trauma needs to be processed, gently and effectively.
Compassion with a Dash of Challenge
While I am always warm and empathetic, I’m also direct. If there’s a pattern that’s keeping you stuck, I’ll name it — respectfully, compassionately, and only when you’re ready to look at it. I believe that real healing often requires honest reflection, and sometimes a gentle nudge forward.
Not Just Therapy — Relationship
Our sessions won’t feel stuffy or overly serious. They’ll feel like talking to someone who gets it. Someone who knows when to lighten the mood and when to sit in silence. Someone who can hold both your deepest grief and your unexpected joy — and help you hold it, too.
Therapy with me is a collaboration. A relationship rooted in trust, integrity, and emotional safety. It’s a space where you can come as you are, week after week, and know that I’ll meet you there.
If you’re curious about working together, I’d love to hear from you. Whether you’re navigating trauma, struggling with self-worth, or just trying to stay afloat — you don’t have to do it alone.
You can learn to feel safe in your mind and body again. And I’d be honored to help guide you there.
